Original MarsCon 2026 Masquerade<\/h2>\n

Returning once again will be the Saturday Costume Contest and will be held in Grand Ballroom: Salons A\/B\/C beginning at 4PM. <\/a>To register, please fill out the form at the Masquerade table located in Artist-Author Alley just outside of the Dealers room by 3pm on Saturday, January 17.<\/h4>\n

For 2026, the costume contest will be mixed with the Charity Auction. After each round of the contest, while the judges are finalizing their paperwork and decisions, we will be conducting some rounds of the charity auction. When the judges are ready for the next round of the contest, then we will resume the costume contest.<\/p>\n

Costume Contest Rules<\/h2>\n

The Original MarsCon Masquerade is not associated with the ICG (International Costumers Guild) and doesn’t follow their Guidelines!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Categories<\/h3>\n

There will be six (6) separate Costume Categories (see below), Youth, Novice, Intermediate, Master and Group will be Judged.<\/b><\/p>\n

There will be no Pre-judging!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Display Only<\/strong><\/td>\nOpen to all ages<\/span><\/td>\nDisplay only will NOT be Judged.\u00a0 This will allow participants to be on stage without any pressure.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Youth<\/strong><\/td>\nOpen to ages 12 & below<\/span><\/td>\nIf you are age 12 or younger and are new to costume making or have purchased the majority of your costume and accessories.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Novice<\/strong><\/td>\nOpen to all ages<\/span><\/td>\nIf you are new to costume making or have purchased the majority of your costume and accessories.\u00a0<\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Intermediate<\/strong><\/td>\nOpen to all ages<\/td>\nYou have experience. Some “store bought” items with personal alterations and\/or made pieces to add. Approximately 50% has been crafted\/constructed.<\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Master<\/strong><\/td>\nOpen to all ages<\/td>\n\u00a0<\/b>You have entered or won contests before.\u00a0 The costume is at least 90% crafted\/constructed (not mass produced).<\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Group<\/strong><\/td>\nAll ages<\/td>\nThis is for groups of two or more.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
