MarsCon Covid Policy

In response to the Covid-19 Pandemic, MarsCon has established the following Policy. We are following the recommendations established by the CDC, the State of Virginia, Holiday Inn Virginia Beach-Norfolk Hotel & Conference Center and Blenheim Hospitality at VAHOL, LLC.

  1. At this time there will be no Vaccinations or Negative Covid Test required to attend MarsCon.
  2. The wearing of Masks in the Conference area will now be OPTIONAL. Disposable masks will be available for those who forgot theirs.
  3. Please follow the guidelines listed below:

COVID-19 most commonly spreads between people who are in close contact through respiratory droplets or small particles produced when an infected person coughs, talks, or breathes. Growing evidence shows that droplets can remain suspended in the air and travel distances beyond six feet, according to the CDC. Indoor environments with poor ventilation increase the risk of transmission.

To prevent infection and to slow transmission of COVID-19, do the following:

  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water or clean them with alcohol-based hand rub.
  • Maintain at least six feet distance between you and people coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
  • Stay home if you feel unwell.
  • Refrain from smoking and other activities that weaken the lungs.

MarsCon Safety Procedures

MarsCon has instituted the following Rules that the committee will be following.

  1. The MarsCon Senior Staff, if not already wearing a mask, WILL DON ONE WHEN REQUESTED BY A GUEST OR ATTENDEE!
  2. To assist with identifying those individuals that want limited “Close Personal Contact” during the event, please note the color of their Lanyards. There will be Three distinct colors. Red, Yellow and Green – Highway Stoplights – that we are all familiar with. Red – Stop and stay at least 6ft away. Yellow – approach with caution and ask the person what they are comfortable with. Green – approach, but still show common sense when interacting with them.

Hopefully by following these steps we will alleviate the chance of anyone catching Covid.
